Jamaat Social Service 'Vision 2016' is for the whole mankind: Ameer Jamaat

Two-Day Workshop on 'Vision 2016' held at HQ

New Delhi:A programme was held to introduce 'Vision 2016' a social work-centred plan to Jamaat-e-Islami Hind's state presidents and assistants in a two-day workshop held at JIH headquarters from July 8-9.

In his inaugural speech, JIH president Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari emphasised the importance of serving the poor, needy and the downtrodden in the light of Quranic verses. He reiterated that Allah has promised paradise for those who believe in Allah and do service to mankind. "Service to mankind is the mission of the 'Vision 2016'" he said.

Addressing the workshop, vice-president of JIH Prof. K. Siddique Hassan instructed the states' representatives to explain the plan to the cadre on wide level and decide various programmes at state level in the four year plan of Vision 2016. He also highlighted the activities of Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR).

City president of Hyderabad North unit of Jamaat Khalid Mubashir Zafar gave a PowerPoint presentation on how to work in selected downtrodden localities. Another informative presentation was given by Abdul Jaleel, Director of CIGI on career guidance and educational counselling while Khwaja Shahabuddeen of IRW delivered speech on how to train volunteers.

Arshad Ajmal, a social activist from Patna, and H. Abdur Raqeeb, Convenor of Islamic Banking, delivered speeches on Microfinance and Islamic Banking and Finance respectively.

Dr Mohammed Rafat, president of JIH Delhi & Haryana, Dr Shakil Ahmed of APCR and Jamaat secretary Mujtaba Farooq also addressed the workshop on legal rights, constitutional rights and safeguards.

Ameer-e-Jamaat released a book titled 'A guide to uplift Minorities' and delivered concluding speech. Advising the participants he said, "We have to aware all the times about the schemes and facilities for the welfare of Muslims, downtrodden and backwards granted by government and non-government institutions. Maulana Umari also asked the cadre to do new experiences within Islamic principles. He said, "We have to learn good things from others as Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has said "Wisdom is believers' lost asset so wherever find, try to get it."
