Ration Service Scheme of Youth Wing, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Inaugurated

A scheme initiated by Youth Wing of Jamaat-e- Islami Hind district committee to distribute ration for 100 poor families every month expending Rs 1,000 each in district, was inaugurated at the Town hall here on Saturday February 6.
The scheme was inaugurated by MLA U T Khader at the programme organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind with the theme, for hunger free society. U T Khader said that providing food for the poor is like service to the country. The price rise, which has hit the country rendered poor struggle for essential items. The government should make necessary arrangements to lower the prices by controlling black market and market mafia, he added.
Somanath Nayak, president of Nagarika Seva Trust, said that the governments have failed to uplift the poor people of the country and alleged government to be anti-poor and farmers. The agriculture lands in acres acquired for the industries are making the farmers, he said adding that though development is essential the path towards development presently taken cannot be justified.

Mohammad Kunhi, district convenor of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said in his welcome speech that the scheme is for all the poor people and not for any community or religion. Poor people from all the religions will be benefited from the project, he added. He said that the initiative has been taken up as a measure to eradicate poverty.
Women wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind also handed over a cheque to Mohammed Kunhi towards fund supporting the project.

MLA of Bantwal Constituency B Ramanath Rai, B M Mumtaz Ali, president of Badriya Juma Masjid, Krishnapura, Abdul Rauf Puttige, director of Talent Research Foundation were also present.

Abdulla Javed, state president of Jamaat-e- Islami Hind, Karnataka-Goa presided. Mohammed Mubeen, secretary of Youth Wing conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
